Your thinking matters because your life will tend to move in the direction of your thoughts and affect your happiness. Consider these two examples of ways of thinking:
- I can’t do anything, nobody likes me, I’m a failure and I’ll never achieve my dreams.
- I can do anything, people appreciate me, I’m a success and I’ll be able to make my dreams come true.
One of these approaches will make you happy and the other will lead in the opposite direction. Here are some ideas to help you think in a positive way:
- Every time you have a negative thought, acknowledge it and replace it with a positive one.
- If the negative thought comes back, replace it with a positive one.
- If the negative thought still comes back, replace it with a positive one.
- Keep repeating this until you become really good at replacing negative thoughts with positive ones. It won’t be easy and it won’t happen overnight, but you will eventually become an expert at thinking positively because you’ve practiced it over and over.
Your thinking deeply affect everything you do, or don’t do, in life. Thankfully, you can get rid of the thoughts that hold you back and replace them with positive ones that will help you be happy. What tips do you have on changing your thinking?
